Privacy Policy

Harold Weinstein Ltd. (HWL) handles personal information to respond to enquiries, provide jewellery appraisal and gemstone services, process orders, maintain customer and approved store accounts, and give authorised recipients access to service records.
Website enquiries and orders
We use the name, contact details and message you submit through website forms to respond to your enquiry and communicate about our services.
If online ordering is available and you place an order, HWL and its commerce and payment service providers process the contact, order, billing and payment information needed for the transaction, confirmations and order support. The form or checkout identifies the information requested.
Website visitor analytics and optional content
Our website uses visitor analytics through pixels or server logs for statistical evaluation and technical improvement. The analytics tool does not use analytics cookies and anonymises IP addresses after transmission. Its records include requested pages or files, referring pages, access times, browser and operating-system information, and device type.
Optional maps, videos and translation tools may send your IP address, browser or device information and interactions to their providers when enabled. Use the website's Privacy Settings to review available services and change optional choices. Disabling optional content may prevent that content from loading. The online store may use cookies needed for shopping and account functions.
Portal information and access
The portal handles registration and contact details, sign-in information, job and appraisal records, released invoices, and security information used to protect account access. Business registration requests, when available, include business and contact names, email, telephone and address; a website and business registration number are optional. Service records come from HWL's internal appraisal records.
Customers can view only the job status, reviewed appraisal reports and released invoices assigned to their account. Approved stores can view linked customer job and appraisal records and applicable HWL service trade prices for the store accounts or locations authorised by HWL. If you submit work through a store, that store may receive the related job and appraisal information. Store approval does not provide access to unrelated customer or store records.
The portal uses an essential session cookie to keep you signed in. The portal application does not include advertising trackers or marketing cookies. The separate public website and store have the practices described above.
Service providers and international processing
Service providers help us host the website and portal, handle enquiries and orders, deliver account messages, and store account and service records. They process information needed for those functions. Information may be stored or processed outside Canada, where it may be subject to local laws and access by courts, law enforcement or other public authorities.
Sale of information and optional partner offers
HWL does not sell personal information or give partners customer contact lists for marketing.
Any future HWL communications about selected partner offers would require a separate, optional opt-in. You could withdraw that choice using the unsubscribe method provided with the communications or by contacting HWL. Partner-offer consent would not be a condition of appraisal services, business registration or portal access. No partner-offer program or opt-in is currently active in the portal.
Retention and your privacy choices
Retention depends on the record's purpose, ongoing service needs and applicable legal requirements. Appraisal and invoice records may need to be retained for services, accounting and legal purposes. Closing a portal account does not automatically delete issued appraisals or invoices.
You may ask what personal information HWL holds about you, how it is used or disclosed, request access or correction, ask about retention or deletion, withdraw optional consent, or raise a privacy concern. We may ask for information needed to verify your identity and locate the records. We will explain any limits on access, changes or deletion, and any effect that withdrawing consent may have on a requested service.
